Debit/ATM Cards

Make life a little
     easier
with a Florida Telco Visa Debit Card

ATM Locations

Your Florida Telco Debit Card is one of the easiest ways to pay for just about anything, plus it's your ATM card too.

Your card works 2 ways:

You can use your Florida Telco Debit Card to buy things at millions of places that accept Visa debit cards.

1. Make Purchases

When there's no keypad - just present your card and sign the receipt. You don't need to enter a PIN.

If there is a keypad - swipe your card and either:
select "credit" and sign for your purchase, unless you want cash back. If so, select "debit" and enter your PIN when prompted. Either way, the money always comes from your Checking Account.

2. Get Cash

Your Florida Telco Debit Card is also your ATM card which means you can use it to get cash at thousands of ATMs around the world. You can also transfer funds, make deposits and check your balance at any Florida Telco ATM, or at many ATMs on the CUHere network.

It's a safe way to pay.

Your money is protected. If your card (or its number) is ever lost or stolen, you don't have to pay for  unauthorized purchases.*

Pre-Authorized Holds. Merchants can request authorization for more than the amount of your purchase, or multiple requests when using your debit card.  If the merchant uses a different authorization code than the one they requested for payment with, the hold will expire the first business day after 3 calendar days. If the merchant contacts Florida Telco, after a few security questions and with the merchant’s permission Florida Telco can remove the preauthorization hold. If the merchant receives payment for an amount more than the amount agreed to you will be able to dispute the transaction.  Unfortunately Florida Telco is not able to dispute the preauthorization.  Florida Telco does advise members not to use their Visa Debit Cards for renting a hotel or car, for bar tabs or while on a cruise.  These merchants often place multiple holds on your account for their security. Your low-rate Florida Telco credit card would be a better choice in these instances.

By subtracting purchase amounts from your balance immediately - just as you would when you write a check - you can help protect yourself from over-drafting your account. To request a debit card register (and debit card holder) email Member Services with your name, address and the last two digits of your account number, or call them at 904.723.6300.
