Terms & Conditions - Visa Extras
Florida Telco Credit Union Terms and ConditionsVisa Extras ("Program") is a promotional incentive program offered by Florida Telco Credit Union (“Florida Telco”, “FTCU”, “Issuer”, “we,” and “us”) to residents of the United States. Under the Program, you earn points every time you make a qualifying purchase or engage in a qualifying transaction (“Qualifying Purchase“) with a Florida Telco Visa Check Card or Florida Telco Visa Credit Card (“Visa card” or “card”) that has been enrolled in the Program. You can use these points to obtain merchant gift or travel certificates, gift cards, merchandise, and much more (referred to generally as “Rewards”). By participating in the Program, you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions. In addition to these terms and conditions, the “Florida Telco Credit Union Visa ATM/Check Card Agreement” or the “Visa Credit Card Agreement and Truth in Lending Disclosure”, as applicable (the “Card Agreement“) relating to your use of your Visa card also shall continue to govern your use of your Visa card and the Program. In the event of a conflict between the Card Agreement and these terms and conditions, the Card Agreement will govern, except these terms and conditions shall govern in any matter relating to the Program.
Changes to the Program
We may modify, restrict or change the Program at any time, which changes may include, but are not limited to, changing the number of points you earn for a particular type of activity or the number of points you need to reach a particular Reward tier or to redeem a particular Reward, or omitting or adding reward levels or categories, or changing the selection of Rewards, or imposing, increasing or eliminating points caps or Program fees, or changing the conditions under which points expire or are forfeited. We will notify you of material changes to the Program terms and conditions and, unless you decide to terminate your Program participation, you will be bound by the revised terms and conditions. We also reserve the right to suspend or terminate the Program, or your participation in the Program, at any time without compensation to you.
Eligibility
Visa cards issued in the United States and in good standing may be eligible to participate in the Program. We reserve the right to determine in our sole discretion whether a particular Visa card or cardholder is eligible to participate in the Program.
Enrollment
There is no cost to you to enroll or participate in the Program. You can check the eligibility of your Visa card and enroll your card in Visa Extras online at http://www.visa.com/extras or by calling 1-800-960-8472. When you enroll your Visa card in the Program, we will establish a Program account (“Visa Extras Account”) for you. Each Visa card number must be enrolled separately and, unless linked with another Visa Extras Account after enrollment, will be treated as a separate Visa Extras Account, even if two or more Visa card numbers are associated with the same credit, checking, or underlying account. If there are multiple cards with the same card number, only one cardholder is required to enroll; all Qualifying Purchases made with Visa cards with the same card number will earn points in a single Visa Extras Account.
Once you have enrolled successfully, you will select a password that is required to access the Program website http://www.visa.com/extras or telephone system (1-800-960-8472). It is your responsibility to keep any password safe and known only to you because you are responsible for all activity in your Visa Extras Account.
Qualifying Purchases
Only Qualifying Purchases made with your enrolled Visa card can earn points for your Visa Extras Account unless other eligible cards are linked to your Visa Extras Account, in which case, Qualifying Purchases made with those cards may also earn points for your Visa Extras Account. A “Qualifying Purchase” is any signature-based purchase, Internet purchase, phone or mail order purchase, or automatic bill payment made with an enrolled Visa card, which is processed or submitted through the Visa U.S.A. Inc. transaction processing system. Do not use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) when paying for your purchases with your enrolled Visa card if you want to earn points for such purchases. PIN-based purchases, transactions that are not processed through the Visa U.S.A., Inc. transaction processing system, payments of existing card balances, balance transfers, cash advances, ATM transactions, convenience checks, Interlink-processed transactions, fees charged by us (for example, annual fees, finance charges, and related service charges, if any apply), payments made for pre-paid and re-loadable cards such as certain gift cards, Visa Buxx, and similar cards, or payments made for payment instruments that can readily be converted to cash (for example, travelers cheques, money orders, wire transfers, and similar products or services) are not Qualifying Purchases. We reserve the right to determine in our sole discretion whether a particular Visa card transaction is a Qualifying Purchase.
Points
Once enrollment is completed, you will start earning points for the Qualifying Purchases made with your enrolled Visa card based on the actual purchase amount, including tax.
You will earn one point for each $1.00 of a Qualifying Purchase made with your enrolled Visa Check card or 4 points for every $1.00 of a Qualifying Purchase made with your enrolled Visa Credit card. Purchase amounts, including tax, will be rounded to the nearest whole dollar amount to determine the number of points to be posted to your Visa Extras Account.
You may receive Visa Extras bonus points for certain Qualifying Purchases at participating merchants or in connection with other specified promotions. The rules for each bonus offer can vary, including how the bonus is earned, how the purchase amount eligible for bonus points is determined, and when the offer expires. Other important terms and conditions may apply. Details can be found on the Program website or by speaking with Visa Extras customer service. It will generally take 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your Visa Extras Account, but in some cases it may take up to 90 days. Once posted to your Visa Extras Account, these bonus points are available to you should you choose to redeem them. All Visa Extras bonus points are subject to the same point redemption and expiration rules as the points you otherwise earn for your Qualifying Purchases.
Any returns, credits, or chargebacks earn “negative” points and such “negative” points will reduce the total points posted to your Visa Extras Account. If at any time an enrolled Visa card account is not in good standing, Qualifying Purchases you make while the card is not in good standing will not accrue any points, and we may, at our discretion, deduct points from your Visa Extras Account for Qualifying Purchases occurring during such time that the card was not in good standing.
Occasionally, we may authorize an adjustment to your Visa Extras point balance. These adjustments can be positive or negative. Details on adjustments can be found on the Program website or by speaking with Visa Extras customer service.
Points have no cash or other value, except to obtain Rewards as set forth below.
You may not purchase points or transfer points from one Visa Extras Account to another Visa Extras Account, even if both are owned by you. However, if another eligible Visa card is linked to your Visa Extras Account, any points earned with that Visa card will be transferred to your Visa Extras Account. You also may not transfer or sell your Visa Extras Account.
Point Activity/Redemption/Expiration/Forfeiture
You can view your Visa Extras Account point balance and points earning and redemption activity at any time online at http://www.visa.com/extras. You can also call 1-800-960-8472 for such information. It may take 1-2 weeks for some of your Qualifying Purchases to post to your Visa Extras Account. Some Qualifying Purchases, for example foreign transactions and bonus points, may take longer to be posted.
Points are redeemed on a “first-in, first-out” basis, such that the first points earned will be the first points redeemed over the life of your Visa Extras Account. Once a redemption order is placed, your Visa Extras Account will be reduced by the number of points used to acquire the Reward. If your Reward order is cancelled or the Reward item becomes unavailable, your points will be reinstated and you will be notified of the cancelled order.
All unredeemed points in your Visa Extras Account, other than points transferred from another Visa Extras Account, will expire at the end of the 36th month from the month in which they were posted to your Visa Extras Account. All points transferred to your Visa Extras Account will expire at the end of the 36th month following the month in which they were first posted to a Visa Extras Account.
Your positive point balance will be forfeited if your registered Visa card account is closed by you or by us, or if your Visa Extras Account is terminated by you or by us (we will determine in our sole discretion what is a closed account or a terminated Visa Extras Account for this purpose). You may not be provided with notice of expiration or forfeiture of points.
You are not entitled to compensation from us or Visa U.S.A. Inc., or from any other entity, when your points expire or if they are forfeited for any reason.
Linking Cards
Linking other eligible Visa cards to your Visa Extras Account allows you to earn Rewards more quickly because all points are credited to a single Visa Extras Account. Your request to link additional cards to your Visa Extras Account will result in your Florida Telco Visa Check Card being designated as the primary card with all others designated as secondary cards (if you only have a Florida Telco Visa Credit Card, your card cannot be in a linked relationship as the primary card). However, each user of the primary and secondary cards will have the same rights to earn points for your Visa Extras Account access to the Program website and telephone system, and redeem points in your Visa Extras Account. Also, when a secondary card is linked to your Visa Extras Account, all of the points accumulated in the Visa Extras Account previously associated with that secondary card, to the extent not redeemed, will be transferred to your Visa Extras Account.
You may submit a request to us to link other eligible Visa cards to your Visa Extras Account by visiting the Link Visa Cards section of the Program website or by calling the Program Administrator at 1-800-960-8472. We will evaluate your request within 30 calendar days and, if approved, you and all secondary cardholders will be advised by electronic mail, if we have email addresses on file, and in the Message Center on the Program website. You will also see any linked cards in the My Visa Extras Account section of the Program website.
Your Visa card can be in only one linked Visa Extras Account relationship at a time. Only Visa cards issued to consumers can be linked to other Visa cards issued to consumers. In order for a Visa card to be eligible to be linked to your Visa Extras Account, the card: (i) must be active on Florida Telco Credit Union systems; (ii) must be enrolled in the Program prior to the requested link; and (iii) must not be part of another linked Visa Extras Account relationship. If your Visa card is placed in a linked relationship as a secondary card, the points previously accumulated in your Visa Extras Account, to the extent not redeemed, will be automatically transferred to the Visa Extras Account associated with the primary card to which your card has been linked and all further Qualifying Purchases made with your Visa card will earn points for the primary cardholder's Visa Extras Account. You will receive notice of the linked relationship in the Message Center on the Program website after the linking. You understand and agree that any person with a Florida Telco Visa Check Card can link your Florida Telco Visa card as a secondary card to such person’s Florida Telco Visa Check Card if such person has your Florida Telco account number and your Florida Telco Visa card is otherwise unlinked at the time of the request. You understand and agree that any such link shall be deemed authorized by you unless and until you terminate such linked relationship. You understand and agree that it is your responsibility to monitor your Visa Extras Account to determine if anyone has linked your Visa card to another Visa card. You understand and agree that the holders of all linked cards will be able to view the merchant, dates and amounts of all Qualifying Purchases made by other linked card holders.
Any user of a primary or secondary card linked to your Visa Extras Account can redeem the points accumulated in your Visa Extras Account, without regard to the actual number of points that such user earned. Points earned by all Visa cards linked to your Visa Extras Account will be redeemed on a “first in, first out” basis regardless of which user redeems such points.
You may contact us directly at 1-800-960-8472 if, at any time, you decide to unlink a Visa card that is linked to your Visa Extras Account or to unlink your Visa card that is linked to another Visa Extras Account as a secondary card. All “unused points” in the Visa Extras Account at the time of unlinking will be reallocated to the Visa Extras Account associated with the Visa card that was used to make the Qualifying Purchase that earned the points. “Unused points" include only those points that were earned in a transaction for which none of the earned points have been entirely or partially redeemed or adjusted. If any portion of the points earned for a particular Qualifying Purchase is redeemed or adjusted, none of the points earned for that Qualifying Purchase will be considered ”unused points” and, following the unlinking, all of the remaining points attributable to such Qualifying Purchase will remain in the Visa Extras Account associated with the primary card, without regard to whether the Visa card used to make such Qualifying Purchase was the primary card or another card (i.e., a secondary card) in the linked relationship. Bonus points awarded pursuant to criteria based upon the combined activity of all Visa cards in the linked relationship will also remain in the Visa Extras Account associated with the primary card without regard to which card was actually used for the activity or whether such bonus points have or have not been entirely or partially redeemed or adjusted. When we have completed the process of unlinking a secondary card from your Visa Extras Account, the user of the secondary card can resume earning and redeeming points with respect to his or her own Visa Extras Account.
Rewards/Shipping
To redeem points in your Visa Extras Account to obtain Rewards, go to the Program website at http://www.visa.com/extras or call 1-800-960-8472. You can only acquire Rewards to the extent that you have the required number of points in your Visa Extras Account. You cannot combine points in one Visa Extras Account with points in another Visa Extras Account, unless another eligible Visa card is linked to your Visa Extras Account, in which case, all points in the Visa Extras Account associated with that Visa card to the extent not redeemed will be transferred to your Visa Extras Account. All Rewards are subject to availability and have no cash value.
Each Reward will be subject to terms and conditions specific to the Reward that will be provided to you in conjunction with the Reward. These terms and conditions may address such matters as the expiration date of the Reward, the purchase or other requirements to use the Reward, any warranties for the Reward, or any other limitations or restrictions on obtaining, retaining or using the Reward. Neither we nor Visa U.S.A. Inc. is liable to you if a Reward expires prior to your use of the Reward. An expired Reward will no longer be available for use or redemption.
Many of the Rewards are certificates that are redeemed at a participating merchant location. You and the merchant are responsible for compliance with all laws related to the Reward, including the payment and collection of any federal, state, or local taxes. Refer to the Reward certificate for details.
There is no shipping or handling fee for standard delivery of the Rewards. Rewards generally will be sent to you within 4 weeks of placing your Rewards order. Rewards will not be shipped to any address outside of the United States.
Any merchandise Reward, if it has been damaged in transit, can be returned to the Program administrator selected by Visa (“Program Administrator”) in its original packaging within ten (10) days of your receipt, in which event you will receive a full reinstatement of the points you redeemed to acquire the Reward. Contact 1-800-960-8472 for return instructions. All non-merchandise Rewards (for example, gift cards and certificates) cannot be returned. Except as otherwise provided above in connection with merchandise damaged in transit, redeemed Rewards are not refundable, exchangeable, replaceable, redeemable, or transferable for cash, credit, other Rewards or points under any circumstances; we, Visa U.S.A. Inc., and participating merchants are not responsible for replacing lost, stolen, or mutilated Rewards, including retail or travel certificates, gift certificates, gift cards, or merchandise.
For the current list and description of the Rewards, as well as the number of points necessary to obtain each Reward, go to the Program website at www.visa.com/extras or call 1-800-960-8472.

If your participation in the Program is cancelled and your Visa card serves as the primary card in a linked relationship, all secondary cards will be unlinked.
